History

Dereham Independent Spiritualist Church has been serving the local community for over 45 years, offering a place of comfort, learning, and spiritual connection. We are proud to be one of only two independent Spiritualist churches remaining in Norfolk, continuing a long tradition of Spiritualist teaching, mediumship, and fellowship.

Founded to provide a supportive and open space for spiritual exploration, our church has grown through the dedication of volunteers, members, and visitors who share a belief in life beyond the physical world and the ongoing connection between Spirit and humanity.

What We Do

We offer a variety of spiritual services and events designed to support, uplift, and inspire:

• Sunday Services featuring spiritual teachings, philosophy, and mediumship
• Mediumship Evenings & Demonstrations, raising awareness of life after death
• Reading Share & Fledgling Events for those wishing to explore and grow their abilities
• Coffee Mornings where friendship, and spiritual support are at the heart of everything we do

Funds raised through our events and activities are lovingly reinvested into maintaining the church, supporting its ongoing work, and ensuring it remains available for future generations.

Our Aims

Our aims & purpose is to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive space where people can:

• Explore Spiritualism and personal spiritual development
• Experience connection with Spirit through mediumship, healing and psychic work
• Find comfort, reassurance, and understanding
• Learn more about life after death and the continuity of the soul
• Feel supported within a caring spiritual community

We are committed to raising awareness, encouraging understanding, and offering spiritual support to all who seek it — without judgement and with open hearts.

Many of our events are free or offered at very low cost, so that everyone can access connection and spiritual support. Donations help us maintain this vital building and keep our welcoming community space open and growing.
